About the Class
Kindermusik Musicians is a structured, engaging class designed for children ready to take their musical skills to the next level. Through hands-on instrument play, rhythm reading, music games, and ensemble work, kids develop foundational skills in music theory, listening, and collaboration—laying the groundwork for future music lessons and creative growth.
What Children Will Do
Sequential Learning
Kindermusik Musicians in total is a two-year curriculum,with each lesson building upon the last to help children build skills in asequential manner.
Independence
Children will participate in the first 50 minutes of class independently, with caregivers returning for the last 10 minutes of class for a special sharing time.
Music Concepts
Kindermusik Musicians students experience steady beat,rhythm, and melody through listening, moving, singing, playing instruments, andmore.
Auditory Discrimination
Children develop the ability to listen to music andsound while paying close attention to differences in pitch and the instrumenttimbre.
Ensemble Experience
Students participate in activities involving instrument ensembles, vocal ensembles, and group dancing.
Instrument Play -
Through their knowledge of music notation, children learn howto play the glockenspiel, dulcimer (Year 2) and recorder (Year 2).

Pre-Piano Skills
The fine-motor development, instrument play, and musicalnotation experiences in Kindermusik Musicians help set children up to smoothlytransition into beginning piano lessons after completing the two-year curriculum.
