The Hearts Behind KINDER

That's why we’re not just about products – we’re about making memories.

Ann Bock

Ann Bock, studio owner, is a licensed Kindermusik teacher. She has a degree in Elementary Education from Nebraska Wesleyan University and has done graduate work in Early Childhood Education. Ann taught kindergarten and first grade in the public schools for 12 years and has had over 17 years of piano and dance training. Several of Ann’s Kindermusik graduates have gone on to participate in upper level music classes in high school and college and have even marched with thenCornhusker Marching Band at UNL. One of her favorite parts of having taught for over 30 years is now getting to see her Kindermusik graduates all grown up and bringing their own children to take KinderMusik classes with her!

Emily

Emily Woodside joined Bock Music Studio in the Spring of 2024 as a licensed Kindermusik educator. She received her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from UNL and her masters in Music Education from UNK. She has five years’ experience teaching elementary general music in the public school system and a background in piano and dance. Notably, Emily’s graduate capstone paper discusses research related to music’s effects on a child’s development from prenatal through preschool years. She is excited to share the benefits of these effects with her students through Kindermusik classes!

A Magical Start to Music

We enrolled little Anaya just to try something new—but what a journey it’s been! The way the instructors engage kids is truly magical. She now hums tunes all day, and her confidence has grown tenfold. Kinder Music School gave her the happiest start to her musical journey!”

Music That Stays With Them

"As a working mom, I don’t have a lot of time to shop around. Babuu has everything I need in one place, and the customer service is fantastic! I love that they have fast shipping and quality products that I can trust."

A Music Teacher and Parent's Journey with Kindermusik

As a music teacher, it was an easy decision to place our 18m old in Kindermusik. ‘Our Time’ provided an opportunity for her and daddy to interact through song, dance, and instruments. The weekly class was educational, but equally valuable was the intentional time for child and parent. With each of our 6 children, we saw the benefits gained from participating in and graduating from the program. Kindermusik develops a child’s awareness of music through creative curriculum. They learn beat, rhythm, basic music notation and symbols, tempo, history and an appreciation of various genres. You realize the impact when you hear them sing on their own, watch them dance down the hallway, or desire to play some of the Kindermusik games or instruments during the week. That’s the immediate awareness. Kindermusik also lays foundation with social and intellectual tools, group learning, sharing, and following instruction. These are some of the early lessons learned so when they graduate, they’ve experienced skills to enhance any educational situation.

A Grandparent's Gift of Music Across Generations

“It has been so special to share the gift of music with my grandchildren through KinderMusik! We began by gifting my granddaughter KinderMusik lessons as a toddler. Then her brother enjoyed watching her practice her lessons. Then he wanted to go to Kindermusik. This experience has led my granddaughter to piano lessons and my grandson hopes to take drum lessons!”

Teachers That Truly Care

“The warmth and patience the teachers show is unmatched. Our son used to be shy, but here he’s found his voice—literally! He looks forward to every session. Thank you for nurturing not just musical skills, but also his personality.”

Learning Through Play and Rhythm

“Every class feels like a celebration. Drums, songs, laughter—it’s a complete sensory experience. Our child is learning rhythm, coordination, and teamwork, all while having an absolute blast!”

A Private Music Teacher’s Top Recommendation

Because I teach private music lessons, I get many questions from parents about when to start children in lessons. My first words are to enroll them in a Kindermusik class! It’s such a great foundational program! I’ve seen the benefits in our own children and in other children I’ve taught. When taught well… and Miss Ann certainly does that… you have hit the jackpot with giving your child an invaluable experience.

An Early Childhood Professor Reflects on Kindermusik’s Impact

As an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education, my work focuses on exploring what truly supports the holistic development of young children. From both personal and professional experience, I can confidently say that KinderMusik is something special. I still remember my own time as a KinderMusik student—those early moments of singing, moving, and exploration left a lasting impression on me. Now, as I watch my own children take part in Kindermusik, I see that same excitement and sense of wonder come alive in them. What makes Kindermusik stand out is its inclusive, thoughtfully crafted approach that integrates music, language, movement, and social interaction—all in a developmentally appropriate, play-based setting. I especially appreciate how naturally it supports key foundational skills like self-regulation, confidence, and creative expression—skills that I know, from both research and experience, are essential for lifelong learning. Kindermusik also nurtures social-emotional growth by fostering meaningful connections between children and caregivers through shared musical experiences and has made a personal impact on me as a mom by showing me simple, joyful ways in which to engage and play with my own kids.

A Legacy of Learning from Kindermusik to Marching Band

Kindermusik started as just a fun thing to go do with my kids, but the developmental benefits proved to be powerful. All three of my children went through the program - and now my grandchildren are also participating. My adult children see the benefits - and are continuing now as parents themselves! As adults, we see only the outward giggles and noises - but the reality is that what is happening inside the developing brain is priceless. All three of my children were proven to be strong readers, problem solvers, and continue to have powerful language skills. Later all three were very proficient in not only academics, and music at school, but also Show Choir (one becoming a high school band major, all three being dance captains for show choir, and two participating in UNL Marching Band). I would encourage all families to put some time into the benefits of Kindermusik - no regrets here
